Welcome to the 2019 Mojo Triathlon

Race Description

The swim takes place in the calm waters of the VOA lake. The bike course features some rolling hills with car traffic kept at a minimum. The Sprint athletes will complete one loop of the course and the Olympic athletes will do two loops. The one or two loop run will be contained all within the VOA Park.null

• Sprint Triathlon: 750m Swim – 20k Bike – 5k Run
• Olympic Triathlon: 1500m Swim – 40k Bike – 10k Run
• Sprint Duathlon: 5k Run – 20k Bike – 5k Run
• Olympic Duathlon: 5k Run – 40k Bike – 10k Run
• Sprint Aquabike: 750m Swim – 20k Bike
• Olympic Aquabike: 1500m Swim – 40k Bike

Relays

For those who prefer to race one element of the triathlon, we offer a relay division for our sprint and Olympic distance triathlons. Relay teams consist of three (3) members (1 swimmer, 1 biker, 1 runner), each member will complete one segment of the race. Each team member will exchange their timing chip bracelet at their assigned bike rack.

Training Program

Again in 2019, we will be offering  training program for both the Sprint and Olympic distances. Renee Zegar will conduct the training program. Renee Zegar is an avid runner, triathlete and Ironman Certified coach. Renee has qualified for the Boston marathon 17 times, completed 4 full Ironman triathlons and competed in 2016 Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii.  Her moto, “Anything is possible if we just give ourselves the time to ‘tri’. Rules

The 2019 Mojo Triathlon is an officially sanctioned USA Triathlon race and will run in accordance with USA Triathlon rules.

Open Water Swims

For Mojo Triathlon Race competitors and Mojo Club members we will be offering 7 Open Water Swims at the Voice of America Park leading up to the race.  There is an additional fee to participate in each OWS. The Dates of the OWS are as follows:

Divisions

All age group athletes must participate and compete in the age group division corresponding to the athlete’s age on December 31st of the year of the event.
Age Group: 15-19 (high school division), 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

Race Day Schedule

Transition will open at 5:00am on race day and close at 6:50am. The first wave of swimmers will enter the water at 7:00am.

When arriving we encourage you to first rack your bike before going to body marking and chip pickup.

The bike exit will be the only entrance open to transition in the morning. You must be wearing your arm band to enter into transition. Only participants are allowed in transition the entire day.

Volunteers will direct you in transition based on your race distance. After racking your bike, please head over to the body marking and chip pickup area which is close to the transition entrance. The chip will need to be worn on your left leg with the chip facing outward.

The age you will be at the END of the year and event will be marked on the back of your leg. Your bib number will be marked on both arms. Please apply sunscreen before going body marking.

The transition area will close at 6:50 and everyone must exit at that time.

Turn right at the top of the ramp onto Liberty Way

Take the Liberty Way Exit
Turn left at the top of the ramp onto Liberty Way
Turn right at the second light onto Cox Rd
Turn left at the first light onto VOA Park Dr

Parking will open at 5am.

There will be a limited number of parking spaces in the lots next to the lodge. These are on a first come first served basis.  Additional parking is available in the grass lots.  We will have parking attendants directing you to the parking lots.
